We have a new publication in the making!
We want you and everyone in Pendle Hill to know what's happening at Stepping Stones. So we’ll be releasing a monthly journal highlighting the exciting things we’ve been doing in the community; from park feeds to quilt-making to kids campouts and more!
The journal will be called "Stoned". A strange name for a church publication? Read below!

Why "Stoned"?
We believe that Jesus came to Earth to teach us about God’s love, to show us how to follow Him and live fulfilling lives the way he intended. In John 8:1-11, the Bible tells a story about a woman accused of adultery.
The Pharisees, the strict moral teachers of the day, dragged this woman to Jesus and laid her at his feet. They told Jesus of her sins. They wanted to stone her to death. They pointed their fingers and said to him “Teacher, this woman has been caught in the very act of adultery! The law tells us to stone such women to death. What do you say?”Jesus wanted to distract the angry crowd from the woman cowering in front of him so he started drawing in the dust with a stick. When the Teachers persisted with their questions, Jesus stood up and finally answered:“Let the person among you who has never done anything wrong be the first to throw a stone at her.”
The crown fell silent. They dropped their stones. One by one they began to walk away. Finally, Jesus was alone with the woman. He said to her “Dear lady, where are your accusers? Hasn't anyone condemned you?” She looked around and saw no-one there to throw stones at her. She replied “No one, sir.” Then Jesus said, “I don't condemn you, either. Go home, and from now on do not sin anymore.”Like the adulterer in this story, we are all a bunch of sinners, and if we'd been brought before that crowd we would probably deserve to be stoned too. But we know what it’s like to be forgiven by Jesus. And we live every day in the knowledge if his grace and mercy!
