Aged-Care Chaplaincy

Picture
Adjacent to the Stepping Stone Community Centre is the Living Care Retirement Village, administered by Churches of Christ in NSW.

The Village has about 240 residents, some of whom are in Nursing Home (“High”) care, others in Hostel (“Low”) care, and yet others in their own units.

The Stepping Stone Community works with the Village staff to offer spiritual care to these residents through our Chaplaincy ministry.  The Chaplain (Geoff Hall- pictured) conducts mid-week church services and devotionals in each of the residential facilities, leads Bible study groups, interacts with groups of residents, visits residents in hospital, and cares pastorally for individual residents in crisis, grief, or need.  At times the chaplain is called upon to conduct funeral services or even weddings.

Whilst the priority for the chaplaincy ministry is the residents, it is also offered to families of residents and to staff where needed
